- This is a handy printable list of pantry staples to have on hand for cooking and baking. I typically have a stocked pantry in case of emergencies and to be earthquake ready. Plus, it’s handy to have the pantry stocked in case you are in between store runs or snowed in… Or to use for meal planning.
- Stock up on items when they are on sale. Have what you need for making a recipe.
- Plus, always check the dates for food safety. Rotating pantry staples are essential to keep canned and boxed foods fresh. Use the FIFO method. FIFO means first in first out. You can use a black Sharpie to mark expiration dates on the stored items. Or use freezer/food storage labels like these to keep track of expiration dates…
- Having a pantry stocked can help you get dinner on the table by having staples on hand to cook with.
Have you ever grabbed a box of baking powder or dry yeast to find out it was expired? Check items not used that often and stock the pantry for the baking season and use up staples before they expire! It will help save time and money to know what you have on hand to use and when it expires.
