Fresh Squeezed Lemonade Recipe
My grandma had a few homemade drink recipes. My favorite drink was her lemonade recipe. There is nothing more refreshing in the spring and summer than a good old-fashioned, fresh-squeezed lemonade. The kind of lemonade you'd love to add a little extra sugar to when you were a kid, because it was slightly tart.
When I saw Men in Black, I had to laugh, you know that part where Edgar wants more sugar? That was us as kids. But now I tend to like my lemonade right in between tart and sweet. How do you like your lemonade?
She had a lemon tree in her backyard. Calling us to come to pick the lemons when they were ripe. Sending us up the ladder to pick, then gently had them down to her as she added them to the basket.
She would make lemon meringue pies, lemon bread, lemon cake, and our all-time favorite, her ” best lemonade recipe“. Although I don't have my grandma's original recipe, I sourced one to share with you that I found that was almost exactly like hers.

How To Make Lemonade

You'll need a bunch of lemons, sugar, and water.

A pretty pitcher or glass container, a knife, and a handheld lemon juicer or an electric juicer. Optional lemon reamer.

Now, there are juicy lemons and juicier lemons. Did you know that lemons come in many sizes and types? I didn't realize how many types of lemons there are. I mainly knew about Meyer lemons. Perfect for juicing into your drink recipes or other recipes.

One trick, if your lemons aren't giving you the juice you want for your drink recipe, try rolling the others before cutting and juicing.

There’s nothing like a tall glass of lemonade on a hot summer’s day. So sweet and refreshing! Come to think of it, I haven’t made fresh lemonade yet this summer. Time to get some lemons!
Hi Stacie, I agree! It’s been super hot here. Usually I make a lot of ice tea but, this year I’ve made more lemonade. Next I think I’ll mix it up and make ice tea lemonade. Cheers to making some.
