Easy Caramel Brownies

- 1 Box Brownie Mix (I used Betty Crocker Original Supreme)
- 1/2 Cup Caramel Sauce (I used Hershey’s Caramel topping)
- 1 Tablespoon Morton’s Coarse Sea Salt (kosher) divided.
If you rather make homemade brownies, you can create this with a homemade brownie recipe then follow the topping directions; starting with number 4 in the instructions below.
How to make caramel brownies
- Prepare brownies according to package directions. Pour half of the brownie mixture into a well-greased 8 inch pan.
- Bake for 10 minutes or until brownies are just set at the temperature recommended on the package directions.
- Remove from oven and let cool for at least 30 minutes.
- Pour the caramel sauce over the cooled brownies.
- Sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon sea salt over caramel crushing it slightly with your fingers.
- Carefully cover with the remaining brownie batter.
- You don’t want to mix the caramel into the brownie mix, so do this with an extra light hand.
- Bake approximately 20 minutes or until the brownies are done.
- Let cool for 1 hour.
- Top with remaining sea salt.
