Spoil Your Pup Make Healthy Homemade Dog Treats & Recipe
I experimented with healthy homemade dog treats after seeing many recipes on Pinterest. Need I say more. Sammie & I thought it would be fun to try to make some for Rex. It was a fun project for us. Our puppy is now just a little over 7 months. Training has been going good. He can be a bit stubborn at times but, is really a mellow dog & does want to please. Especially if a treat is involved. I mean really who doesn’t love treats? Today I am going to share our home made dog treats & the recipe for you to use if you like. We hope you enjoy it!
This is the first time I made homemade dog treats & it was just like baking anything else really except you have to cook them longer than a cookie. All natural ingredients included whole wheat, apple juice, bananas, carrots, cornmeal & a few other things you’ll see. You use a touch of oil & 1 egg for the binding to hold them together.
Rex can officially play fetch now! I think we wore him out! It was pretty easy to train him I just found a couple of You Tube videos & worked on him for short periods of time. The more he brought the ball back he got a reward. (note not a whole cookie!)
This recipe makes quite a bit. I filled a 2 liter plastic bucket with lid. (which is just over 2 qts. ) Store in something similar, a dog cookie jar, or over sized mason jar. I have seen oversized mason jars at Michaels along with doggie cookie cutters in the larger stores.
