Lately I’ve been over the top busy! When aren’t we busy though? Everyday family life seems to be as hectic as ever. Between everyday life, our remodeling of the bathroom, my every daily schedule and balancing the kiddos activities sometimes it’s hard to find a moment for me! Just me! One of my favorite ways to escape while grabbing a little entertainment is having a few quick reads. My me time choice is a good magazine or two. I actually have a couple of favorites to share with you! Along with how I grab my me time and tips on how you can make your own me time too!
A typical day for me consists of driving to the next town to pick up my girl from middle school. With three schools close to each other traffic is terrible. I leave early and take my magazines with me. Forget the traffic mess! I indulge in me time by waiting near the pick up area catching up on style trends from InStyle® magazine.
Then I lose myself in StyleWatch® magazine packed full of trends and celebrity news. But, before you know it there’s that tapping on the window and it’s back to being reality and being a mom.
Until a little later or tomorrow my magazines and I will meet for another round of me time! How quickly we are back to reality of having to go, do and get things done for others! But, we all need time to recharge or discover what inspires us so I’m sharing a few tips of how you can sneak some more me time into your day!
Let me share a few tips for getting “me time”
With these tips you can grab your “me time” too;
-
When I’m grocery shopping I grab a few of my favorite magazines selections like InStyle, StyleWatch, Sunset and People Magazines. You can usually find them right at the check out stand! I keep the latest on hand. *Special Discount at the bottom of the post for you!
- Slip in me time in the morning when having s cup of coffee before the school morning rush
That’s what I often do. I loved the off duty on point fashions this month. Simple yet stylish!
But, when I’m on the go I have this me time tip!
- Keep your magazines in your purse or bag to have on hand when on the go
Perfect for reading – me time while waiting; for after school pick up times, appointment times, during the kids sports or lessons or other activities.
- Weekends before anyone is up or in the evening after dinner and family time. Take them out, sit under a throw reading and finding fashion inspiration
There’s something about enjoying the quiet in a home and flipping through the pages.
- When I’m completely done reading my magazines they are great for making mood or inspiration boards
I’ll never tire of reading and flipping pages of magazines! Time where I can indulge in style, people watch, see the latest tips, find how to get luxe for less or owning your curves while still looking fashionable! Each month is a new issue packed full of trends, tips and inspiration. What’s not to love about that and me time??
Right now, you can grab some me time savings and read any of these magazines!
- Save $1.00 on 1 participating magazine title such as People, StyleWatch, Sunset and InStyle. You can grab your discount through the Just4U online portal. 10-23-14 through 11-20-14. (While Supplies Last)

What is your favorite me time? Which magazine is your favorite? Do you ever create mood boards with your old magazines?
I have always loved reading magazines, even when I was a teen! (hello, Sassy? YM?) 😉 Now usually the only time I have to catch up with a magazine is when I get a pedicure! I search through the salon for my favorites and gather them up before I set down. I can breeze through 3 magazine by the time they are done!
It is tough to find “me time” especially as a mom, but when I do, it’s usually curled up with a mag and some wine or watching a show I don’t get to watch during the day when every kids show imaginable is on repeat.
Hi Joanna, Even when they are bigger it’s hard to find the “me time” but, with that said I agree in the evening can be a great time to catch up on shows, flip through magazines. Thanks for stopping by!
Hi Cajun, Glad to hear your with WeaveMade too! Ha Ha! Seriously you don’t have to have kids to give yourself a time out!
Hi Lady Lilith, I agree we all need a time out! It doesn’t help to run constantly.
I enjoy getting some me time in the morning before my daughter has woken up. I usually will read a book or read some blogs, and sometimes a magazine when I’m on the go.
I feel like I never have “me” time these days with two little ones. I usually sacrifice the few hours that I do sleep for catching up online. Great reminder to take time during the day, while shopping or in the check out lines!
Hi Ana, Oh, I can relate my youngest is 13 now & it’s hard to squeeze it in. I remember when all mine were little it’s a challenge to juggle it all.
These are seriously two of my favorite magazines! I subscribe to them both. Your “me time” sounds a lot like mine. I love sitting and reading magazines. I get so much inspiration from them.
Hi Stacie, I should subscribe to them but, I just pick them up in the store. lol I agree they are great for ideas and inspiration.
