Making pizza is fun! And this is an easy pizza with pesto to make. I enjoy making pizza with the family (and for the family). Its an easy dinner idea. I love adding a fresh salad on the side. What about you?

How to make homemade pesto pizza

Instructions

  1. Get out your pizza pan or baking sheet/sheet pan and add olive oil to the bottom. Use a paper towel or your clean hands to spread it around.
  2. Pull out your premade dough from the refrigerator. (homemade or store-bought).
  3. Shape the dough by rolling it out or kneading it with your hand and fingers to the shape and thickness you prefer.
  4. Add the pesto sauce (and optional crushed garlic) and spread it around the pizza. Keeping it a little bit off the edges.
  5. Next, add the shredded Mozzarella cheese, cut up artichoke hearts, sliced Kalamata olives and cooked chicken.
  6. Top it with shredded or grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake in the oven at (450-475 F degrees ) It typically will bake in 15-20 minutes.
  8. You know the pizza is done when the bottom is brown (and the dough is cooked). Be sure to check on the pizza as it cooks!
  9. Cool the pizza slightly, slice,and serve.
  10. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Pizza Dough ( 1 ball of pizza dough - store bought or homemade)
  • Olive Oil
  • Pesto Sauce (1 jar of Regular, creamy pesto sauce or homemade pesto sauce)
  • 1 can of Sliced Kalamata Olives
  • 1 can of Artichoke Hearts
  • 8 ounces of Shredded Mozzarella
  • Parmesan Cheese (shredded)
  • Optional 1-2 crushed garlic cloves and pre-cooked marinated chicken. You can see how to marinate and cook the chicken in this recipe for Creamy Chicken Pesto Pasta.

Instructions

  1. Add the pesto (and optional crushed garlic) and spread it around the pizza. Keeping it a little bit off the edges.
  2. Next, add the shredded Mozzarella cheese, cut up artichoke hearts, sliced Kalamata olives, and cooked chicken.
  3. Top it with shredded or grated Parmesan cheese.
  4. Bake in the oven at (450-475F degrees) It typically will bake in 15-20 minutes.

  • This can serve 4 people depending on the appetite and size of kids/teens.
  • You can easily double the recipe.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the microwave, toaster oven, or oven.
  • When completely cooled you can freeze the leftover pizza.
