Kids Crafts Book to Help Kids Learn to Hand Sew and Cross Stitch

Today I’m sharing a fun kids crafts book we received to review (for free). At the end of this post is a round up of resources for other crafts for kids that we loved too. I thought I’d add them into one post in case your looking for great gifts for kids. Today’s book,” Fun with Stitchables“ is filled with fun stitchable patterns for cross-stitch and hand sewing. Lets take a look at this adorable book.

It has a different punch card template in a sturdy cardboard. The quality is very good. I brought it with me and shared it with my grand daughter who is 8 years old when I visited and stayed to care for them when their parents went on a trip.

We purchased a plastic needle for embroidery and I brought yarn and my box of embroidery thread for her. Audrey was able to do these stitch cards on her own. I just had to show her how to start and finish with a knot. She is enjoying learning cross stitch and sewing. Her brother wanted to try at 4 he needed more assistance. The patterns are very easy. The illustrations are really adorable and great for both girls and boys. This would be an awesome kids crafts book to give as a gift!

The cards really make it easy for them, showing them where to cross stitch. She really caught on quickly.

She decided on which direction to sew, stitching in and out. She loves the book so much she asked her teacher if she could do this at recess and took the craft book, plastic needle and embroidery threads with her. She used her school scissors at school. I wished I had took a few photos of all the cards she finished. But, when I visit again I’ll update the post.

Our thoughts of this cross stitch sewing book: This is a great craft book for kids, as you can see from the images she really enjoyed it. They will learn how to pick colors, plan and how to start and finish stitching. With each stitch there is also the practicing, and improvement of manual dexterity all while learning this fun craft.
