Today’s post is all about supporting a healthy lifestyle. For me, this includes weight loss, bone health, and women’s heart health… Has any of that been on your list of goals for improving? I didn’t make a New Year’s resolution but, I’m making better life choices. Who else wants a healthier lifestyle?

This topic makes me feel kind of vulnerable. Let me tell you why. To be honest I have gained more than few more pounds than I’d like to admit. I need to take my own life choices and lack of exercise into my hands. Starting with a healthy plan. What about you?

Let me share the good/bad of my healthier journey this year. The good: I’ve been focusing on eating healthier. Portioning out my food choices onto smaller plates for serving, which helps me. Eating smaller meals more often vs. going all day and really feeling hungry!

Get Active – I bought a new pair of walk/running shoes. Although, I know I won’t be running anytime soon. I am using them to power walk more consistently. Plus drinking plenty of water. And adding vitamins back into my regimen. I’ve made myself accountable and included the family too. Why? Because I love them.

Take A Walk

My favorite place to walk is at the beach. When I get a chance to drive out there. But, every day I end up heading out with the dog in my neighborhood at the very least.

The bad: Walking daily hasn’t been as consistent as I’d like. Whether it’s been the weather, motivation, too busy working, or racing the kiddo around… I want to get outside daily! And increase my routine with other activities too.

Eat Smaller Portions

The good: Remembering to eat smaller meals more often. Lunches that are light, healthy then add vitamins to supplement anything lacking in my diet. And support my immune system! My choice is Nature Made for getting back on track.

Take Vitamins

No matter what age or stage we are at there are healthy choices that we can make. And sometimes those choices make things easier for the long run. For example, I’m not a huge milk drinker, I work indoors and am getting older. The combination equals lack of Vitamin D. Although getting outdoors will help a little at my last Dr. visit she suggested I take vitamins, specifically Vitamin D. Something I really haven’t focused on until now. But, it’s worth doing, I know I used to take multivitamins.

I don’t know why I stopped taking vitamins for a while. I used to take daily ones when I was younger, then vitamins when pregnant (as prescribed by the Dr.) I think you just forget sometimes how something so simple can make things better for your health. Supplementing what you’re lacking in your system by taking vitamins. Especially as women with all the things our bodies go through over the years. I mean, seriously we encounter so many changes and even monthly challenges (if you know what I mean) where our bodies and system could just use a boost.

I love Nature Made soft gels, tablets, and vitamelts. There are so many to choose from to suit your needs. The melt away is great for anyone who doesn’t like to take pills. My teen prefers the VitaMelts to the capsules. I also love the new packaging, with a safety seal on the outside and inside too.
