#ad Easy & Fun Family Movie Night: The Smurfs 2+ Smurf Dinner Menu & Cupcakes
I love the holiday season, easy dinners, movies and baking. Pair that with our family movie night and you’ve got easy entertainment, plus a happy family! Some of the best movies are released this time of year. Ones you’ve waited for to be released & some movies you didn’t even know you wanted to see until you went shopping. Nothing is better than making an easy dinner for the kids & having a family night of fun while watching a movie after shopping or being busy all day during the holiday season. Our family night movie pick The Smurfs 2 with a little extra movie night fun topped with cupcakes!
We live right around the corner from a Walmart so grabbing essentials is super easy. I was super excited to be able to get one of the latest Smurf movie releases when we were over there!
I gave Sammie a little Triva lesson on the Smurfs. Her older siblings used to watch them all the time when they were on television. Can you believe these little guys were created in 1958 and are still so popular! They have become these iconic characters from all the viewing of the television show from 1981-1990 and on varies networks until 2003. Did you watch them back then? I picked up The Smurf’s 2 at Walmart along with what I was making for dinner.
The Smurfs are known for their crazy antics and adventures through the Smurf Village. This made me want to up our family movie night with a little extra fun! No not antics but, by making some fun Smurf cupcakes. I made them during the day for our family movie night while Sammie, her friend and her dad were holiday shopping. They didn’t want me to go. Hmm, wonder what that means?
Then I had to make dinner before the movie.
It only made sense to make the dinner easy, which means more time with family on movie night!
I made Tyson Honey Batter Breast Tenders, Sammie’s favorite mashed potatoes and a cup of cut up veggies with dipping sauce. Easy for me. Easy to please the kids with this dinner. Not to mention easy clean up too! Which means more time for movie night! The family loves Tyson Honey Batter Chicken, cupcakes & Neil Patrick Harris who stars in The Smurfs 2 Movie!
For the batch of cupcakes I made half white for mushrooms then the other half I made blue in honor of the iconic blue Smurfs!
I topped the cupcakes with f aux faces & Smurf looking hats, but since Sammie isn’t a huge frosting fan I found a free Smurf printable and topped some with less frosting plus the Smurf cupcake topper. I also found Smurf coloring pages and the girls colored while they watched the movie. Then they enjoyed their cupcakes!
I hope you get the chance to have a fun family movie night sometime soon! PS. We enjoyed The Smurfs 2 Movie. Have you seen it yet?
