I love finding gifts ideas for kids that are not only fun but, educational. Don’t you? My grandkids range in age from 9 years down to 9 months old. I love bringing games with me to play with them when I visit. I also love seeing them learn how to play together, take turns and cooperate.

We have always been big game players in our family. Then while raising my kids and now, to playing with the grandkids. We love games. Does your family? Win or lose playing games is a fun way for kids to learn skills, numbers, colors, listening, taking turns, manual dexterity, among so many other skills.

There is no shortage of kids at my second youngest daughter’s home. Her kids are ages 9, 5, 3 and 2. When I visit they love playing games with me. We had the chance to try a few new games from Peaceable Kingdom.

Sunny Day Pond is a puzzle game for ages 3+ and takes 2-4 players. This is a cooperative give. No reading is needed for this game. Learning skills for this game are: color matching, visual space awareness, hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. *Small pieces are included in the game so take care if you have other small kids or babies under 3.

I had been talking to my older daughter who has a son in pre school. I decided to send the Match Up Game & Puzzle Farmers Market to him.

Before I sent it over I opened it up to see what it was like. What I love about these games the cards have a nice wipe-able sheen to them, they are really sturdy and large. This game is for kids ages 2+ and for 2-4 players. Learning skills include: Visual recognition, memory skills, numbers, colors and matching. No reading required.

My older grand kids love games like rummy, go fish and war. The playing cards are super cute and come in so many options. The games and cards are all high quality.
