So Easy & Good BBQ Sauce Recipes & Cafe Salad Dressing Mix
Dear Creatives, I thought I would do a little BBQ round up today since we are headed into Memorial weekend kicking off the season of barbecues, camp outs, grilling & summer!
It is all about the sauces isn’t it? Well, maybe not but the grilling does get a little help from the sauce & although the side dishes don’t play second fiddle you must remember the desserts are just the icing on the cake for your BBQ. But, what it boils down to is what makes the BBQ top knot-ch the sauce!
Your chicken will be finger licking with these recipes!

Here is the perfect salad dressing (Cafe Green Salad) slightly adapted below, only by adding more veggies perfect to mix up ahead of time for your tossed green salads! This recipes a winner! Tried & true, tested right here for our home BBQ’s.
Mustard Vinaigrette
Ingredients
- * 1 garlic clove sliced in 1/2
- * 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- * 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- * Small splash soy sauce
- * Salt and freshly ground black pepper
- * 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
-
3 cups mixed greens, the darker the better (not iceberg)
-
Rub the inside of a large wooden bowl with the garlic clove and then either discard it or save it for another use. Put the mustard in the bowl and whisk in the balsamic vinegar and soy sauce (a French secret!) vigorously for about 10 seconds to get a creamy consistency. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. Drizzle in the olive oil as slowly as possible with 1 hand while whisking as quickly as possible with the other hand to emulsify. Lay the salad greens on top of the dressing and toss just before serving.
-
* I usually prepare this ahead of time pour into a jar, mix it up & pour right onto the salad prior to serving! I add more than just salad greens, sliced cucumber, avocado, sliced red onion & after mixing I toss in tomato s. Be sure to make extra sauce if adding more than greens!
Recipe Notes
Easy to double, for larger crouds. Like our gatherings.
Be sure to make extra sauce if adding more than greens!
