Instant Pot Chicken Breast –This is an easy Instant Pot Chicken Breast Recipe. Use the cooked chicken on a salad, or sliced and served with vegetables. Or make other quick dinners using the chicken breasts. Easy to make, mildly seasoned, and allows it to be very versatile for making dinners.
I used two large boneless, skinless chicken breasts—a can of broth (or chicken bullion and water), plus spices. The mild flavors make this recipe great for quick and easy meals like Asian chicken salad, salads topped with chicken, chicken salad, chicken salad sandwiches, chicken rice bowls, chicken and rice, chicken and vegetables… You get the idea.

Instant Pot Chicken Breast
Cooking the chicken in the Instant Pot only takes 10 minutes. This makes it so quick to make dinners using chicken!
Recipes like this are perfect for any time of the year. You can easily double the recipe if needed.
On this night I used my previous recipe dinner idea for Easy Asian Chicken Salad. You can do the same if you like. I had previously made it using rotisserie chicken. You can also any leftover chicken.
But, using this quick chicken recipe was so easy! I know I’ll be using this over and over. If you have an Instant Pot you will love this recipe.
Plus, it’s perfect for a beginner Instant Pot cooking recipe too. Why? Because of how easy it is. I remember what it was like when I first started cooking with one. Think of how many times it will save you time by cooking in an Instant Pot! And by helping you get dinner cooked quickly!
Instant Pot Chicken Breast Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 large chicken breasts 1.5-2.lbs (boneless skinless)
- 1-8 ounce 8 ounce chicken broth or stock. Or 2 cups water mixed with 2 teaspoons of Knorr Chicken bullion.
- 1/8 teaspoon Salt and 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Roasted Garlic Herb Seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
- Olive Oil Spray or nonstick spray
You will need an Instant Pot, a cutting board, and a chef knife.
Instructions
- Spray the Instant Pot with Olive Oil Spray. Add the chicken and spices.
- Next, add the can of chicken broth or water and bullion (mixed).
- Add the lid and securely SEAL it. Set for 10 minutes on the Poultry Setting.
- Let the pressure release naturally. Add the knob to the venting and release any remaining pressure.
- Pull out the chicken with tongs. Cut the chicken (on a cutting board with a chef’s knife). Use it as you like.
If you make the salad open the salad kit, add it to a salad bowl, and top with the cooled, cut-up chicken then combine/mix. Enjoy!
Recipe Notes
Cool the chicken before using it on salads. It will keep them from wilting.
Asian Chicken Salad (Using Instant Pot Chicken)
If you make the Asian salad you will need 1-2 Asian salad bags. For your reference, I used 1 cooked cut-up chicken breast and 1 salad bag to serve 2-3. And I used the other chicken breast for another recipe.
Use two salad bags for 4-6 larger family sizes and both the chicken breasts.
When thinking of portions with thick breasts and adding it to meals I calculate using half a breast per person. If you have young kids use the proportions of a quarter of a breast per young child.
