Honey Whipped Body Butter Recipe
Today’s honey whipped body butter recipe is easy to make. When you start to make your own beauty products there are a few key ingredients to many recipes. Shea butter, beeswax, almond oil, essential oils. Below are all the ingredients for today’s DIY beauty recipe.
Ingredients you’ll need for this DIY body butter recipe;
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1.5 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon shea butter
- 1.5 tablespoons beeswax
- 1 tablespoons almond oil
- 20 drops grapefruit essential oil (or oil of choice)
Other supplies:
- Jar (s) with lids for storing
- Beauty scoops (optional)
- Mixing bowl, whisk, hand mixer, double boiler, heat proof spatula, and a stove.
In a double boiler or glass jar combine all ingredients.
Heat over medium heat until all ingredients are melted (about 12-15 minutes).
Whisk often to combine ingredients. Ensure everything is fully melted.
Let sit for 1-2 minutes before adding in the essential oil– then, whisk them in.
Let sit on the counter until the mixture hardens (roughly six hours but up closer to twenty four is better). The honey will look like it has separated to the bottom of the container. Alternately you can cool at room temperature then, pop it in the refrigerator or freezer until hardened, shortening the time. DO NOT go from hot to fridge or freezer!
Once hardened, whip the body butter for two to three minutes until it is combined
and looks light and fluffy.
Transfer it to a mason jar. Or a beauty jar (my favorite) with a tight fitting lid.
Makes one small jar (about 1/3 cup)
