I love living a healthy lifestyle but, sometimes my stomach issues derail my day-to-day plans. I think too much and I tend to get stressed occasionally. In turn, it affects me physically. Do you struggle with how to improve your gut health? I don’t know about you but, for me summer is all about traveling, heading out eating different places, and balancing kids and teens underfoot. When I travel my body and digestion gets a little out of whack at least for a few days. Does yours?

Also, for me, daily stresses seem to increase and affect how irritated my stomach can get. Whether it’s due to having kids, teens at home more and have less of a “me time” for my daily routine. Finding that happy place and balance is harder. What triggers affect your gut health? Keeping gut health in sync is super important to maintaining healthy living

  1. Keep track of what you eat in a small food journal. Track when your stomach gets upset, gut, and digestive tract.
I have been keeping track of what I am eating, drinking, what exercise to see if there is a pattern occurring. And also what is stressing me. (Not enough time to get things done, traveling more if we eat out, disagreements…) I have been keeping a mini journal with the kit I received.

  2. Take a health supplement adding microbiome and other ingredients for your health benefits to your diet.
What I like about Gut Connection by Country Life is; Unlike the other products I have tried for gut health, these come in the form of capsules. It’s prebiotic, Non-GMO, and probiotic-free. No mixing with water or juice. Just take capsules as directed by using the directions on the bottle. (easy peasy)

  3. Try clean eating. Loads of vegetables, fruits, and meats that are organic. Reduce or nix the sugars and processed foods.
While using the products, I am eating a clean, healthy diet. Limited red meat, chicken, and fish. Plus, for me with tons of vegetables and legumes. And trying to reduce sugar intake. Find U-pick farms, farmers’ markets… to get organic fruits and produce. We went blueberry picking in Cambria. (we shared all the details on Instagram)
  4. Drinking plenty of water daily.
About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men – About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
Varies by the person, exercise, condition, no singular formula fits everyone. (source)

  5. Exercise daily in several forms.
Exercising by doing daily chores, yard work, walking, hiking, gym… For us, we love driving to the coast and beach walks and hikes.
  6. Reduce Stress
Meditate, take “me time”, exercise, get outdoors.
  7. Get plenty of sleep
The average amount of sleep for adults is 7-9 hours of sleep (source)

If you see my previous post I go into more details of necessary changes that can help you live a better life. But, with that said if you are having problems, or things seem worse with flair ups you should always consult a doctor.

What I tried and how the supplements worked for me

I decided to take the digestivebalance™ first since it’s supposed to improve gut microbiome health. Reduce occasional digestive bloating (which is what I occasionally suffer from)… What I like about this gut health product is it’s in pill form it’s so easy to take daily, with food (not on an empty stomach). I am already seeing a difference in how I feel, even after a short time of under two full weeks. I can say I am pleased with this product is working for me so far. Even after the first few days, I felt relief, better digestion, reduced stomach swelling, and improvement. Now, I don’t know that it has 100% solved all my problems but, it has really made me feel better. I also seem to be having fewer flare-ups while taking the prebiotic.

“Country Life’s Gut Connection” has various types of supplements that target gut health along with other health issues.

I was excited about trying the engerybalance™  I decided to wait as it has the additional caffeine in it and I drink coffee. It would have added caffeine to my already coffeed out self. So I am waiting until when I am not drinking coffee to use try this product. The caffeine is 145 mg Coffeeberry organic coffee (fruit) extract (providing 100mg. caffeine) See package for ingredient details. It also improves gut microbiome health and is said to increase clean clear energy, supporting alertness.

And I am waiting to try the immunebalance™ for when back to school starts for the extra healthy immune system boost. Because you know what happens when the kids go back to school. GERMS and flu season. I will update the post when I take the last two.

Their healthy supplements don’t end there. They have ones for sleep, stress, weight loss…that all include the prebiotic.

Have you tried taking a prebiotic before?
