Have you ever been interested learning printmaking at home? There are several online craft classes I spotted, and books that have peeked our interest in the DIY, and art of printmaking. We have tried hand printing and printmaking as one of our DIY projects last summer. With winter break coming up we are excited to try hand printing.

Have you ever tried it before? We have but, only minimally. Both Sammie, and I got more interested in printmaking from viewing printmaking projects being shared over on Instagram.

Printmaking At Home

We received this smaller sized, book to preview, and review; Kitchen Lithography Hand Printing at Home It’s packed with information, and a quirky little book packed with directions, and craft projects.

It shares what you can use from your kitchen to create prints at home by using their print making techniques. There are lots of hand drawn illustrations, and photos. Card inserts with supply-material lists for projects, which are helpful.

Kitchen Lithography: Hand Printing at Home: From Buttons and Bags In this book, (which you can preview) the authors share what they’ve learned through a process of trial and error in an easy-to-follow guide on turning your kitchen into a creative studio.

The book covers; Hand printing your own buttons, bags, pillowcases, posters, cards, T-shirts, and labels using simple household ingredients with surprising and bold results.

You don’t need to be an artist to do this either. Designs for printing can be very simple to complex. This artsy, craftsy book is loaded with tips for getting started.

We are hoping to do a few projects over the holiday breaks. We’ll update, and link to the posts when we try printing at home, again.
