Materials and Tools For Making Felt Fruit Coasters
Step -1: Select black, white, hot pink, and green felt for the watermelon coaster. Prepare the patterns from the provided template by printing and cutting them out. Trace the patterns on the selected felts – big circle (green, medium circle (white, small circle (hot pink), and teardrop shapes (black). Cut out the traced patterns.
Add the cut-out seeds to the felt circle
Step -2: Take the small circle cut-out and arrange the black teardrop cut-outs (the seeds of the watermelon) on the circle. Use black thread to stitch the seed cutouts with the small circle cut-out. After attaching all the seeds, draw the needle to the back side and tie a knot. Cut off the extra thread or just keep it as it is.
Now, place the small circle on the medium cut-out
Step – 3: Now, place the small circle cut-out on the medium cut-out and prepare a needle with matching thread with the small circle cut-out (hot pink). Simply do a running stitch around the small circle to attach it to the white medium circle cut-out. Done stitching? Draw the needle to the back side, tie a knot, and cut off the extra thread.
Next, place the medium circle on the big circle
Step – 4: Now, place the medium circle on the big circle (green) and prepare a needle with white thread. Stitch around the sides of the medium circle to attach it to the big circle. Once the stitching is done, draw the needle to the back side and draw it between the medium or small felt. Draw the needle back out and cut off extra thread. Wasn’t that easy and fun!
Repeat the process. Simply trace, cut, and stitch to make them using the pattern and different colored felt.
Step 5: Now grab more fun colors for the citrus coasters. Simply trace, cut, and stitch to make them.
Summer is all about chill-relaxing or relaxing. And if it's too hot outside, it's the perfect time to be indoors sipping a cool, cold drink and whipping up a set of felt coasters!
