As much as I love seeing all the fun ideas for them. Make one that suits your taste and needs. If you are crunched on time this is one you will enjoy making and eating!
I’m going to share a few tips for making them. And healthy snacks that you can add to your food boards to munch on. They make great appetizers for any occasion and any season!

DIY Charcuterie Board
Now, this simple appetizer can be made the same day and will only take about 10 minutes (or less) to put together!
First off, if you are making this for your family, teens, and kids pick things they will enjoy snacking and eating the little bites and corn nuts…! Some of my favorite corn nuts are Love Corn snacks. Have you ever tried them? They have plain and different flavors of nuts.
Keep things simple. Trust me, I’ve been making food for our family of 5 kids and 9 grandkids who love snacking!
Your guests will enjoy snacking on foods like this too! Delicious and made with simple ingredients.

What types of things do you put on a charcuterie board?
Charcuterie Board Ingredients
- Love Corn -These nuts are made with corn and are so good and healthy too. I picked Sea Salt, Smoky BBQ, Habanero Chilli, plus get other flavors to use.
- Mini Dill Pickles – I love these kosher Dill Pickles – petite snack crunchers by Mt. Olive or even sweet pickles like this.
- Spanish Olives – Other favorites are these bleu cheese stuffed olives. and these Black Olives.)
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Sliced Peppered Salami or Genoa Salami
- Sliced Swiss Cheese (cut into 4’s) Or your favorite Cheese cut up and cubed.
- Pita Crackers, Crackers, Chips, Tortilla Chips…
- Bake something sweet to go on the charcuterie board. Brownies are always a hit with the family. And so are cookies or mini cookies.
Of course, you can make charcuterie boards much fancier. How? Add a variety of soft cheeses, your favorite hard cheeses, various other cured meats, a variety of olives, dried fruits, sliced baguettes, jams, dips… (See my Pinterest boards for loads of appetizer ideas. To make it vegetarian omit meats and add sliced or cut-up veggies and fruits!

What to assemble the food and snacks on to make a charcuterie board?
Use a cutting board, trays, small dishes…
You will need some type of food board (mine is a marble cutting board similar to this or get the round marble cutting board, which is slightly bigger). Wood boards and trays work well too. Make sure the surfaces are food-safe surfaces. Or line them with parchment paper before laying food on the boards.
A small bowl, or a ceramic dish. Use small dishes or medium or large ramekins for pickles, olives, dips, or jams. And you can put the Love Corn in them too if you like.
Charcuterie boards are good for serving family and guests. I love using them for weekend snacking, game days, parties, and celebrations.
During the fall and holiday seasons, I enjoy making charcuterie boards for snacking while binge-watching shows or movies.

- These are good chip alternatives. Use them when you are craving something salty or crunchy.
- Add them to your recipes. Start by crushing them up. Then, add them on top of the salad. (instead of croutons)

- Or just open the bag and eat the snacks!
- They make easy, grab-and-go snack ideas. Think heading to the park, pool, beach… I love a good grab and go snack you can toss in a bag to take with you. Don’t you?
