Beautiful Home Décor: Silk Plants Direct Review & DIY
Have you ever thought of getting a silk potted plant or flowers for your home décor? I have bought wreaths, flower picks and silk flowers for wreaths. But, I had never shopped at Silk Plants Direct before. Have you? I was excited to be invited to review one of their offerings. I decided to pick a Preserved Boxwood Cone Topiary. When I received it I decided to do a simple diy with it. First let me tell you about my experience. Then on to the quick and easy DIY. Bonus, a special reader discount at the end of the post!
I searched their site quite a bit. I wasn’t sure what I was going to pick. At first I thought something seasonal but, the item just ran out of stock. No worries though if it is out of stock you can ask to be notified when it does come back in. At this point I decided to look at other seasonal items, flowers, then headed over to the outdoor plants and topiaries. I was super excited with all the offerings.

Now onto how my plant looks and arrived. It arrived quickly and was carefully packaged. Wrapped very well in sheet bubble wrap. When I pulled the plant out I was surprised how real/alive it looked.
The boxwood is a really deep green plant in the last photos you’ll see. It is truly beautiful. There was a lot of sun in the room for a few of these photos.

This is a preserved, dried potted 20.8″ plant. The planter is super pretty and I have a close up below. This is really great quality.
I decided to take a few left over pinecones, cinnamon sticks and fall leaves and add them to my silk direct plant. I didn’t glue these in as I want to hang ornaments on it during the holiday season. As a matter of fact I might go back to the craft store get Halloween ornaments to hang. You’ll find it very easy to use plain or decorated.
You could easily set this on a buffet, book case or entry table. Of course you could put it on a table if you wanted but, if you were eating would have to move it as it’s rather tall.
Another thing I tried with my Boxwood Cone Topiary was adding it to a basket. I set it in the center with jars filled with flowers on each side. It really looked pretty but, I missed grabbing a photo.

They look very real and I love what you did with the one you photographed. Fabulous!
In person the boxwood really looks real. It’s pretty amazing. Thanks Amee. I photographed them all except for the sites images.
