Books for the Foodie
Cravings Hungry for More #4 Amazon Best Seller
This just looks yummy!
Cravings: Hungry for More takes us further into Chrissy s kitchen . . . and life. It s a life of pancakes that remind you of blueberry pie, eating onion dip with your glam squad, banana bread that breaks the internet, and a little something called Pad Thai Carbonara. After two years of parenthood, falling in love with different flavors, and relearning the healing power of comfort food, this book is like Chrissy s new edible diary: recipes for quick-as-a-snap meals; recipes for a lighter, brighter, healthier-ish living; and recipes that, well, are gonna put you to bed, holding your belly. And it will have you hungry for more.
Books that are movies
We love reading books before movies Crazy Rich Asians but, aren’t opposed to seeing the movie before the book. If you don’t know the movie or book you need to!
Crazy Rich Asians first in the trilogy series are the outrageously funny debut novel about three super-rich, pedigreed Chinese families and the gossip, backbiting, and scheming that occurs when the heir to one of the most massive fortunes in Asia brings home his ABC (American-born Chinese) girlfriend to the wedding of the season…..
Books for Young Adults
Although it’s geared toward teens and young adults any mom can relate to this book series, and it would make an easy read. Who doesn’t love spending time discussing movies and books with their teen?
Lara Jean’s love life gets complicated in this New York Times bestselling “lovely, lighthearted romance” From the New York Times best-selling author of The Summer I Turned Pretty series Sixteen-year-old Lara Jean Song keeps her love letters in a hatbox her mother gave her. They are not love letters that anyone else wrote for her; these are ones she’s written. One for every boy she’s ever loved—five in all. When she writes, she pours out her heart and soul and says all the things she would never say in real life, because her letters are for her eyes only. Until the day her secret letters are mailed, and suddenly, Lara Jean’s love life goes from imaginary to out of control.
I know I’ll be getting the series for Sammie to read, and it would make a great book series to gift a teen girl.
New Release Books
What am I currently reading? The Dream Daughter but, more about this new book soon to be released later. So far I’m loving it! I love good books to read. Don’t you?? More details to come. (I received an advanced copy from SheSpeaksUp to read of this book for free)
What is Sammie currently reading? She just finished Jane Eyre and is now studying for the SAT with this 2018 Edition SAT Study Guide. Not exactly fun reading but, she has a lot of reading for college exams.
Did you see the PBS series of the Bronte Sisters? If not you can watch Walk The Invisible The Bronte Sisters on Prime for Free or there are purchase options. It was a really good and interesting depiction of these literary sister’s life and how they got their books published in a male-dominated field back in the 19th Century. They published the three books; Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and Agnes Grey.
One book I picked up, then set back down at the book store I wish I would have gotten is this book, Girl Wash Your Face Stop Believing the Lies About Who You Are so You Can Become Who You Were Meant to Be it’s in the top 5 on Amazon and a New York Best Seller. Did you read it? Thoughts? Should I put it on my list of books to read?
