Who loves extending their home decor outdoors? One of the reasons I love summer is ability to extend our outdoor living space with backyard home decor. Just by adding patio, garden backyard home decor you can create an inviting space to entertain, relax with family or just take time to read a hot summer book title.
I have to admit that our backyard isn’t as pretty as it used to be since the drought had lasted five years. But, with all the rains we are starting to see new life in our garden.
We actually spent an entire weekend focusing on sprucing up bushes, removing dead roses and getting areas ready to be planted again. I’m super excited to spend more time enjoying the outdoors right at home.
Beside planting new roses. We are going to add a lilac bush, butterfly bush and more succulents. We are also going to update our home décor for our patio and yard. We had to get rid of some of our backyard home décor; old chase lounge chairs last year. Also a faded and ripped sunshade, umbrella and a few outdoor chairs. It’s not entirely a blank canvas but, close.
Home Decor Backyard
I am crushing on both the Moroccan and Beach themes. But, can I incorporate the two styles? We’ll see. We do have a rather long outdoor space. I was thinking of having the lounging area further away from our spa. I’d place a two piece sectional on the left side of the yard, with the coffee table.
Nearby the spa as you step down I want to place a smaller indoor-outdoor rug so no one slips on the cement when getting down. Under a tree nearby the spa I’d like to place a hanging swing for reading, with this beachy toss pillow. This way if your watching kids swim and don’t want to get in your right nearby.
It really cools down at night in the spring, early summer and fall. I’d love to add a fire pit to our patio area.
