Ham Recipe
- We received this CUREMASTER RESERVE® ham for free to sample. All thoughts, images and opinions are our own.
To be honest we don’t eat ham all the time and typically we reserve cooking hams for big family gatherings. I didn’t have to review this on the our website but, we enjoyed the ham so much I thought it might help someone who will be entertaining.
Since the ham is smoked the directions for cooking the ham are super easy. I did get the top a little darker the first ham I tried only because I didn’t cover the top with foil for as long as I should of. I forget what I was doing that day? Thankfully, I caught it, and finished the directions I included below. (My bad, but it made no difference to the taste. Only the overall end results color of the outside skin.)
Why did we like this ham?
- Because this ham was so easy to make.
- Came with bone in yet was pre-sliced which made plating and serving a breeze.
- The taste was so good and the glaze was amazing!
We received a few glazes to pick from and I decided to try the honey mustard glaze on it. It was the perfect blend. Sweet but, not overly sweet thanks to the spicy brown mustard.
How do I cook ham?
- For the CUREMASTER RESERVE® ham
Heat the oven to 275°F. A lower temperature ensures a juicy ham, unlike others you’ve had before. Remove the ham from the packaging and place face-down in your baking pan. Add two cups of water to the pan and cover it with foil. For every pound, heat 12 minutes. Once the ham is fully warmed to 140°F, it’s time to glaze. But first, remove the water from the pan. Approximate Oven Roasting Time at 275°F: two hours.
How long is left over ham good?
Once this ham is heated, store leftovers in the refrigerator three to five days or one to two months in the freezer. Do this within two hours of sitting at room temperature. When heating leftovers after they’ve been safely stored, reheat to 165°F.
I packaged up the left over ham into freezer bags. First the left over sliced ham. Then I cut the ham closer to the bone into cubes for meal plan recipes like soups. I’m thinking of making a ham potato soup with the leftover cubed ham and also a ham quiche. I’ll be sharing those recipes when I make them.
Below are a few more details about the ham and how to cook it, how many this ham serves and photos of how the ham arrives to you in the packaging.

For us, we always cook a turkey and a ham for Thanksgiving. Our family is big and even without everyone there the head count has gotten to be over 20 people. When we have even more I’ve cooked my lasagna dish too.
