We love them for school snacks and to top our yogurt in the morning. We also love eating homemade trail mix for taking on hikes and traveling. We have a long drive to SF airport and then a 6 hour flight to NYC. Having a teen I know we need to have those snacks handy for long trips. Easy to pack into a snack bag and take along.
Trail Mix Recipe
This is so easy to make I just grabbed my new bag of Viki’s granola* with dried apples, raisins and pecans. I also grabbed mini chocolate chips, pumpkin seeds, almonds and peanuts. I was going to add mini marshmallows but, I just ran out. I grabbed soft caramels and cut them in 4. You could use caramel chips. I often use what I have on hand until I stock up again.
When making trail mixes you can use all kinds of ingredients to add to mixture.
Ingredients we love adding to trail mix

When I don’t have time to make my homemade granola I reach for a good all natural granola. I recently received and tried Viki’s Granola – Apple Cinnamon. It’s even gluten free. It’s also naturally sweetened, sodium free, dairy free, 0 trans fats, whole grain, Kosher…..We really enjoyed it!
It has dried apples, honey, raisins, pecans and cinnamon. I wish I could pass you this homemade snack. What types of trail mix and granola s do you like?
