How To Grill a Cheeseburger
Instructions
- Prepare your toppings (wash, dry, slice). Store them covered in the refrigerator until needed.
- Make sure your grill grates are clean and heat the grill.
- Keep the ground beef cold. Shape the ground beef into patties. Make them circular, about 1 inch larger than the size of the hamburger buns (the ground beef will shrink a bit). And 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. Add a small indent into the center of the burgers. (Pro-Tip)
- Add the seasonings. Note: (Reserve the barbecue sauce until later).
- Grill the burgers on each side. Do not smash down the ground beef (when you are turning it/flipping it over).
- Continue to grill the burgers. Do this until they have reached an internal temperature of 160°F (min. for ground meats).
- Add the BBQ Sauce to each side.
- After, add the sliced cheese to the tops of the burgers.
- Melt the cheese slices onto the burgers (close the grill lid).
- Remove the cheeseburgers from the grill and add them to hamburger buns.
