Easy Felt Bow Ties #Diy For #Valentines or Anytime
Dear Creatives, With Valentine Day quickly approaching I thought I would create some Valentine Bow Ties. I wanted the Valentine Bow Ties to be easy. I had left over felt from doing the heart banners so I decided to make a few different ones for the kids. The felt bow ties are super easy you can create some yourself. I have seen other bow tie diy’s & shared them here before. But this is felt, no sew & very easy project Felt Bow Tie project.
What kind of supplies you need can range from what you have on hand to purchasing felt from a craft store or a wool blend felt or 100% wool felt. Use ribbons & String or twine. Glittery hearts & cut out felt. A good craft glue that dries clear & is for working with fabric. Alligator clips & bin backs. Maybe a hot glue gun & tweezers if you like. In a manner of a half an hour you can have many or in as little as 5 minutes you can have one or two for those special Valentines you love! But, here is a list of basics:
- Felt
- String, Ribbon or Twine
- Craft glue for fabric that dries clear
- Glue gun (another option) & tweezers
- Alligator clips
- Pin backs
- First cut out your felt about 41/2″ x 2 1/2″ but, you can make them any size. This size is small for a toddler or as a broach type pin
- Cut ribbon about 4″ or string about 12″ .
- Then pinch in the center.
- Wrap string around pinched felt.
- Tie a knot in the back. Either use an alligator clip or hot glue a pin backing.
- Make variations play with fabrics, strings add glittery hearts or cut out felt hearts.
- Give it to someone you love!
Some sweet Valentine has my heart on a string! & I have someone forever in my heart too! Do you?
At about 40 cents a piece of felt at Michaels this might just look good on attached to a piece of card-stock for a Valentine for Sammie to give out to her special friends.
I have been having camera problems & saving for a new one. I took these with my phone. The Mr. knows I am wanting a new one & has been selling items he no longer wants in the garage to help. {sigh} Maybe soon! Hope you enjoy this easy p easy project! PS. I made a few felt bow ties that were even smaller & attached them to goody hair bands. Just another idea for you. I hope to share those soon.

Your welcome Katherine. Always nice to visit when I get a chance.
These are beautiful, Theresa. And they could work in so many Valentiney ways…from cards to gift embellishment to place-cards at a party (or special family dinner?). Love the simplicity. Lynaea @ EverydayBloom.com
