Ingredients:
- 12 large strawberries
- 12 pretzel sticks
- 12 ounces of chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Pat each strawberry dry with a paper towel, then cut the top off each piece to create a flat top (after the strawberries are completely dried). Moisture is the enemy of melted chocolate! I like to let them sit for 15-30 minutes before adding the chocolate.
- Flip the strawberries upside down so the point is facing up.
- Melt half the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second increments, stirring between each increment, until fully melted.
- Coat each strawberry in the melted chocolate and transfer to a piece of parchment paper to harden.
- Carefully press a pretzel stick into the top of each strawberry while the chocolate is still soft.
- Melt the remaining chocolate chips and transfer to a piping bag. Cut the tip off the piping bag and pipe lines down the sides of each strawberry to create the look of a broom.
- Allow the chocolate to harden before serving.

Recipe Notes:
Tips for Perfect Witch Broom Strawberries
- Dry Strawberries are a Must: Completely dry the strawberries. It is worth the extra time allowed. Air dry at room temperature: After patting them dry (with a paper towel), place the strawberries in a single layer on a paper-towel-lined tray or a cooling rack. Let them air dry for at least 15-30 minutes. This allows any remaining moisture to evaporate completely.
- Chocolate Consistency: What to do if the chocolate is too thick? Thin the chocolate if it’s too thick. You can add a bit of coconut oil to the chocolate (or shortening).
- Work in Small Batches: When doubling the recipe or making over 12, work in smaller batches of strawberries for easier handling (and covering with melted chocolate).
- Storage: How to store finished witch broom strawberries: Store the chocolate-covered strawberries covered or in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Bring to room temperature before serving for the best flavor.
