Project Runway Season 11 “Get Out Your Scorecard”
Dear Creatives, In case you missed it Project Runway Season 11 started last week! If you love fashion, design or just love the inspiration of watching very creative people at work you will enjoy yet another season of Project Runway. It’s off to a great start & as always one day your in & the next your out! Want to keep up? It is easy by watching the show or catching up on Project Runway on Lifetime, not to mention checking Project Runway’s Weekly Scorecard! So far Emily is out & Daniel is win. You can watch the show Thursday’s 9.8 C on the Lifetime Channel. I am already having a few Project Runway Season 11 favorites. What about you?
This season Project Runway has added a twist of working in teams. Adding a bit more pressure to the contestants. It is interesting to see the interactions & what changes happen with the designs based on critiques. Unfortunately Emily couldn’t take the pressure & sew up her designs to get results of a finished polished product & although she had gotten team help she didn’t come through as meeting the challenge of having her look polished & to the high standards to continue on. I definitely agreed with the judges on their calls this week. Did you?
You will love this seasons designers use of color, fabric & texture when creating their looks. They make sewing without a pattern look effortless, but if you have ever sewn you know this takes skill & knowledge.
I think one of the designers to watch this season is Benjamin Mach who has most notably in his fashion and design career worked as a senior designer for luxury menswear brand WINTL where he used to cut patterns and construct one-off dresses by hand for MARCHESA when they were first starting out in London. There was a brand in Madrid he used to assist the creative director on, called Roberto Torretta. Benjamin also worked on loads of exciting projects styling and creating costumes for the BBC, Pepsi, Sir Cliff Richard and other event design in London.
I am also liking the artistic flair that Patricia Michaels brings to the table. Patricia studied at the Institute of American Indian Art, Chicago Art Institute, worked with a tailor in Italy. Patricia received Best of Textiles at Southwestern Association for Indian Arts, 2011.
Honestly there is so much to write on each designer they are a very talented group. You can visit Lifetime’s Designer Page & read about each one if you like. To catch up & see previous episode s online, you can visit Project Runway’s Full Episodes I’d love to hear your thoughts on this season, who you are rooting for & why you love the show. What other creative shows do you know of & love?

Hi Carolynn, I am always inspired what they are designing & sewing. Makes me want to sew more every time I watch.
