Directions

Permanent Vinyl Mug Tutorial Step-by-Step

Permanent Vinyl Mug Tutorial Step-by-Step DIY Christmas Mug [no heat press] at DearCreatives.com
  1. For Silhouette: open the SVG & resize to 3.5 inches wide (double check the size of the mug you are using). Make sure that the SVG is set to cut under the “send” tab.
  2. For Cricut: import the design, and edit to make it 3.5 inches wide. Click make it.
  3. First, remove the red elements.
  4. Add a 5×5 piece of the black vinyl to your cutting mat.
Cut the black part of the design into the vinyl using your machine settings for glossy vinyl. Weed the design.
  5. Repeat this, starting from the beginning and then removing the black elements. Cut the red elements with your red vinyl. Weed the red design.
  6. Take the black design, and add a piece of transfer tape. Use the squeegee tool to ensure the transfer tape is stuck to the letters and elements. Peel the transfer tape to move the design to your mug.
As evenly as you can, attach the design to your mug, using the squeegee to ensure the letters and elements are adhered to the mug before removing the transfer tape.
  7. Repeat this for the part of the design we cut in red.
Your mug is ready to use after you let the vinyl set for about 24 hours. Note: Be sure to gently hand-wash only.

Tada! You (or the receiver of your gift) have a new Christmas Mug To Enjoy sipping from and Watch Movies With!
