Dear Creatives, I have been doing a little digging these past few days as Sammie wants to be a witch. Some of the best Halloween costumes are homemade. When we were at the thrift store we found a black velvet dress. I thought it would be perfect to transform into a witches dress. So I dug around, found a few things to show her & I thought I would share them with you. PS.When the costume is done I promise I will share it with you.

Halloween Hat-ettes Tutorials

This is a cute witch hat that I found via Delia Creates. She has a tutorial for this witchy hat-ette & not only for this one, but for a 1900 inspired flower hat in felt and also a pumpkin topper! I have been in love with hats for a long time, but these are super cute! I can’t wait to see if Sammie wants to top off her costume with this! & be a pretty witch!

I need to find her a black pair of velvet shoes & add a clip on like these here! Or maybe I will end up making clips of velvet & adding them to her shiny black shoes? (& save some money) Hm mm, light bulb moment!

I am thinking of taking this design & sewing a cape-let, then adding a hood to the cape-let, just to add some witch flair to her costume. I will be trying to use all recycled materials so we’ll see what I end up doing.

Nails a green or dark with sparkles! Which can be easily done the day before.

Now we did face makeup last year for a Vampire. So I am sure Sammie will want makeup. I don’t think she wants a green witch. I came across this witch tutorial & she isn’t scary. I will probably have to put a light foundation on her skin as she is olive complexion. I also found this scary one, but I don’t know that I would be up for this one on a school night Halloween but I thought it has cool results. Snow white evil queen witch tutorial. Maybe I will do something with the pics from last year so you can see how to create a vampire type face. & share with you in case you have a vampire to do. She had so much fun last year!
