Tote Bag For Kids Sewing Pattern – Do you like to sew? Are you looking for an easy sewing project to make? Recently, I purchased a new sewing pattern to try. I am sharing the sewing project (and PDF sewing pattern) that you can easily do in a few hours or afternoon. It is a kid’s tote bag pattern (I will link it below). It is the perfect size for a toddler, pre-schooler, or young child.
The fabric tote bag fits a few books or their little things. Change the fabrics you use and make them for Easter bags or Easter gift bags. By swapping out the sewing material you use you can make these totes for girls or boys and different occasions.

Tote Bag For Kids Sewing Pattern
The easy sewing pattern for a kid’s tote bag instructions walks you through each step with images in a PDF. It was designed by Vickie Elle. First, I downloaded the pattern (reading the instructions first) and cut out the pattern pieces. Then began following the instructions. I viewed the instructions on my iPad but you can print them if you prefer.
I made this so it’s reversible. It is easy to do just by following the pattern.
The little girl I am making this for is a toddler who lives in a rural area and loves horses. I had previously purchased the Western kids’ fabric on Etsy. It was this Michael Miller Girl Western Theme Fabric. For the contrasting fabric, I picked a neutral color.
You can make the ribbon for the bag with the instructions. Or you can purchase ribbon to coordinate with the tote bag you sew.

- interfacing (fusible or regular)
- thread
- a sewing machine
- an iron for pressing seams…
- optional ribbon
I can see making this mini tote for one of my granddaughters who takes ballet. Or make one for Easter with cute bunny fabric or Easter fabric. It would be a fun Easter gift to make for little kids filled with goodies. And one for my toddler grandson to carry his hot wheel cars in.
