You didn’t know I had a wild side did you? Well, maybe not as wild as when I was younger but, I still have a wild side. It includes a Wild Blueberry Smoothie Recipe! I think I used to under estimate the power of these dark blue wild berries. They are slightly different from the regular blueberries you normally find in the produce section. Challenged to come up with a new smoothie recipe to share with you I had to say yes! We have added it to our smoothie recipes, find more healthy smoothie recipes there when your done.

I pulled out my blender not too long ago and broke the glass carafe. I was so bummed because I was ready to whip it, blend it and shake things up around here. But, I didn’t hesitate I found a new blender and am loving it!

Smoothie making tips:
- add juice, water or milk prior to ice
- always make sure you know your blender
- secure lid, before blending
- feel free to make substitutions
Substitutions for this blueberry smoothie recipe
- If you don’t use dairy sub with a whole banana vs half.
- Don’t like banana substitute with strawberries, pineapple or peach. You get the idea.
Want more of the wild blueberries by all means add more! Then blend away! If you find the consistency too thick just add a little more juice, or water too thin consistency. Too thin? Just add more fruit. Once you make a few smoothies you’ll get the hang of smoothie making.

No dairy substitution add 1 banana. No banana alternatives: strawberries, pineapple or peach. Fresh or frozen. If frozen do not defrost blend right into your smoothie frozen. No need for ice. Want it more icy? Just add 1/2 cup or to your liking. We purchase the large containers of Yogurt but, one small will make about 2 if you use half the container per smoothie, which is a little less than what I used in my recipe.
A little fact: Wild Blueberries are called “Wild” because they are not planted – they occur naturally in barrens and fields in Maine and Canada for 10,000 years.

Hi Joanna, I hope you enjoy the recipe! Thanks for taking the time to comment.
You had me at smoothie! I am a big smoothie fan and make them almost every morning! I don’t think I’ve ever noticed wild blueberries in our area but I’ll check. I am so much better at drinking my fruits and veggies than actually eating them which is why I love making smoothies. Then at least I know I am getting a lot of natural vitamins and minerals that I need. Thanks for sharing the recipe! 🙂
