Mother’s day used to be one of the most fun times for me as a kid. My brother and I would walk to the local shopping center not too far from our home to seek out treasures for our mom. There was a rather large shop filled with handmade goods. We’d wander through the store to get mom a gift. Each year pick her out handmade gift ideas made by an artisan. Sometimes we’d have to save for months and months to purchase the special handmade item. Other times we shopped close to the date and ran to the store to get our last-minute gift ideas for mom and purchases for mom that fit our budget.
I don’t even know if that store exists anymore. It’s been years since I have traveled to the East bay where that shop was.
