In a medium-sized mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients with a fork until well blended. Transfer the sugar scrub to an airtight container until ready to use. If you decided to use essential oils be sure to add only a few drops to the coconut oil, after melting, slightly cooling, and before adding to the sugars, cinnamon and chai. Mix, and store the same way.

We didn’t use any essential oils in today’s scrub but, they can be added, adding another level of loveliness to your scrub. We add them to lots of our scrubs, and lotion recipes. Just make sure to add to blend with a carrier oil (such as the coconut oil, which is in the recipe or almond oil), then mix into dry ingredients.

  • You can easily, double or triple if making gifts. Typically, scrubs are good for up to 3 months time when stored, and used properly.

As you can see, homemade scrubs are easy to make.

How do you use beauty scrubs?

How To Use Body Scrubs

The Best Way to use your body scrub, is to the scrub out of your jar with a spoon vs. your hands. I prefer keeping a wooden scoop tied to the jar, and it’s great for gifting. This helps keep your scrub fresh, and bacteria free. If you have to use your hands make sure they are clean but, not recommended.

Use your scrubs for softening hands, elbows, arms, legs, and feet. These scrubs are not to use on your face. Keep out of the reach of small children, they are not edible.

If you packing your scrubs in mini jars, these are the mini wooden scoops I’ve used. They come in a 10 pack.
