This felt craft can be made by anyone. Kids learning to sew (with help) as a teen craft or for an adult craft. Let's get started making this felt craft project.
Optionally, if you don't want to sew this, you could use liquid stitch or another fabric glue as a no-sew option. (Although I haven't tried no-sew for this craft, it might be an option. Just be sure to make a cross stitch for your ribbon hanger, and let all your glued pieces dry completely before using.)

Step-by-Step Hand-Sewing Instructions
How to make a unicorn head
Step 1:
Select the felt fabrics to make the unicorn. I’m using off-white felt for the body and ears, and yellow felt for the horn. For the rest of the features, you can use any color you want. Simplytrace the patterns on the selected felts and cut them out nicely.
Step 2:
Take any 1 cutout for the head (the round cutouts) and stitch the semi-circular part on the bottom side of the head cutout. Prepare a black thread and needle to stitch the eyes, nose, and mouth.
How to make the unicorn horn
Step 3:
Take the 2 cutouts for the horn and place them together by matching all sides.
Step 4:
Stitch around the sides to join both pieces together.
Step 5:
Select a piece of ribbon and fold it in half. (Alternately, you could omit the ribbon and make a cute Kawaii Unicorn type unicorn doll, then follow the rest of the steps to make your small unicorn doll.)

Step 6:
Take the other head, cut it out, and place it on a flat surface. Place the 2 ear cutouts along the top side of the head; also, place the open ends of the folded ribbon between the ears. Make sure that the ears and the ribbon overlap the head cut out by 1 cm (at least).
Final Assembly Steps for making the Unicorn Ornament
Step 7:
Carefully place the horn on the top of the ribbon, again making sure that the horn also overlaps the head by 1 cm.
Step 8:
Now take the front piece of the head (the stitched one), and place it on the top of the other head cut out.
Step 9:
Place the 3 hair cutouts along the top side of the front head; arrange them nicely.
Step 10:
Prepare needle and thread. Stitch the ears, ribbon, horn, hair cutouts and both head cutouts together along the top side.Keep a small opening on the bottom side (1 cm will do) of the head.
Step 11:
Next: Stuff the head with enough cotton (poly-fil stuffing) through the bottom opening to give it a fluffy look.
How to Make a Unicorn Body

Stuff and Close the Ornament

How to attach the head and body to complete the unicorn ornament
Step 14:
Take the stuffed head and bring the needle and thread attached to the body near the neck (on the top side of the body).
Step 15:
Insert about 1 cm of the neck inside the head through its bottom open end. Simply stitch the bottom side of the head and body parts together to join them.
