Moments You Just Need To Unwind And Get Back to Nature
We are heading into the busiest time of year, when admitting -ly I often start to feel really overwhelmed. I put a lot of pressure on myself as a mom, and all the other things that I juggle this time of year. The only thing that settles my mind is getting back to nature, and taking the time to share everyday moments with my teen.
Back to Nature
When we can’t travel, or get to the beach, I often pick to drive the roads less traveled. My drive to drop off, and pick up Sammie from school is through country roads, filled with nature while heading into town.

Just opening the windows, letting in the fresh air, feeling the sun on my face can be relaxing. I try not to think of all the daily pressures. This really helps me relieve my anxiety.
Other ways you can unwind or relieve anxiety are
- taking a walk
- going to the park, or botanical gardens
- by making me time
- taking time out for hobbies like crafts, or DIY projects
- making time to spend with the kids just playing, coloring or chatting
- giving yourself permission to have quiet moments
- making a big cup of your favorite beverage, and enjoying a cookie treat
After picking Sammie up from school. Sometimes, we enjoy the drive in quite. Other times, we turn up the radio, sign along to the radio, and also just enjoy listening to music playing.
In the afternoon we often take those same roads back home. Once home, you know how the kids can be snack happy after school. Sometimes, it’s a day worthy of an after school cookies treat. Do you have days like this? When you just want a cookie treat to go with your hot beverage?
The cookies we tried are perfect for this time of year if you don’t have for or making treat recipes or time for baking, and want cookies. That’s when I reach for a convenient, packaged box of cookies.
Back to Nature Cookies
We had a chance to try Back to Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies. They also have products like crackers, trail mixes, granola…. Have you tried any of them?
Looking for the best boxed cookies?
The Back to Nature Chocolate Chunk Cookies are made with wheat flour, and big, semisweet chocolate chunks. I don’t bake all that often with wheat flour, although I love it. To be honest, I was a little worried Sammie wouldn’t like these whole wheat cookies.
When I gave them to her to try, I said these are made with wheat flour. She really liked them a lot. Forget the 2 cookie serving size, being a teen she ate more than that. The cookies have a nice texture, big chocolate chunks, and we both agree hands down the best boxed cookies we’ve tried. A new favorite cookies treat that we are enjoying.
- Heading to the beach? Traveling? Or packing lunches? You’ll love their Grab & Go Cookie Packs.
I might just have to have a few boxes on hand for those times; traveling to visit family (a 5 hour drive), or when you get unexpected guests dropping by.
- Kids, milk and cookies or guests, good coffee, and chatting = these Chocolate Chunk cookies, and chatting. Back to Nature cookies are the perfect cookies for dunking.
Back to Nature changed their cookie’s recipe to meet the new Non-GMO guidelines, back in 2015.

• They contain no hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup.
You’ll find their products in many local stores, like Whole Foods, Sprouts, or use the back to Nature store locator. We saw so many new varieties of their cookies at a recent trip to Sprouts. Oh, yum!
