How to make this fall craft for kids!
Kids will enjoy making them and then hanging them up, using them for place cards, magnets, or a fun banner to decorate your holiday table or classroom! Fall Craft Stick Characters
Make these in no time at all with your kids or preschool-age kids. You probably have a lot of the supplies already if you craft with kids or are a crafter. Dig into your craft stash and see what craft supplies you have on hand, check off what you have ordered, or run grab the rest then get started making this fun craft stick trio!
FALL CRAFT STICK TRIO includes a Popsicle Stick Scarecrow Craft, Popsicle Stick Crow, Popsicle Stick Corn
Work on shapes, colors, cutting, and counting with this simple Fall Craft Stick Trio. This kid’s craft for fall was created with supplies from the Dollar Store and Amazon.
Materials
- Wooden Craft Sticks – Dollar Store or Amazon
- Craft Foam Yellow, Red, Black, Brown, and Green – Amazon
- Washable Markers – Dollar Store or Amazon
- Wiggle Eyes – Dollar Store or Amazon
- Cardstock Tan
- Pencil
- Permanent Marker – fine tip
- Low Temp Glue Gun or Liquid Glue with a fine-tip applicator
- Scissors
Instructions
HOW TO MAKE CRAFT STICK CHARACTERS
(1) STEP ONE
Layout wooden craft sticks using the photo as a guide.
- Scarecrow uses nine vertical and one horizontal, color hat with an orange washable marker.
- The Crow uses four vertical, colors with a black washable marker.
- Harvest Corn uses five vertical, small sections with orange, yellow, and brown washable markers.
(2) STEP TWO
- Attach each base group of wooden craft sticks to tan cardstock with a glue gun, and trim excess cardstock with scissors.
- Do not glue on the scarecrow’s craft stick hat brim until the next step.
(3) STEP THREE
- Cut and fringe a rectangle of yellow craft foam and glue it to the top of the scarecrow’s face.
- Attach the hat to the brim on top of the foam.
(4) STEP FOUR
- To finish the Scarecrow, attach two wiggle eyes, then draw the nose and mouth with orange and brown washable markers.
- Create a patch with a square of brown craft foam and permanent marker stitches.
- Add a flower by cutting and fringing a white circle of craft foam, folding it in half to attach, and top with a small circle of red craft foam.
(5) STEP FIVE
- Embellish the Crow with two wiggle eyes, a large yellow craft foam triangle beak, and a large black craft foam leaf-shaped tail, attached with glue.
- Draw two dots at the top of the Crow’s beak to finish.
(6) STEP SIX
- The Harvest Corn just needs a Husk made from a large rectangle of green craft foam.
- Wrap around the corn to make sure it meets at the base and then cut out two leaf shapes at the top.
- Secure with glue.
