Last Minute Recipe Ideas for Thanksgiving Meal Planning
For this week’s Meal Plan Monday I thought I’d share some of the recipes we are planning on cooking for Thanksgiving. Maybe this will help any of you who are waiting to the last minute to complete your menus. Since we have a large family we can’t wait to the last minute. It also seems like everyone has a favorite dish they have to have! This can make things tricky for recipe and meal planning.
What we try to do is get some dishes on the meal plan that most people will like, a recipe that reminds us of our mom /grandmas’s that have passed on and a favorite or two. Oh, we don’t mind trying a new recipe or two every year either. Some of us love turkey, others ham and then we have our prime rib lovers. Good thing we hang out for 4 days! Side dishes are a must, lots of veggies and desserts that are to die for! Typically my second youngest daughter and I plan away. We are pretty organized, plan, make shopping lists and get to work.
Here’s some of this years recipes perfect for any large gathering and Thanksgiving! We hope you enjoy the meal plan from our family to yours.

Now we just have to make up the grocery list, shop, prep and cook lots of food! But, with big crowds there is quite a few hands to help with all the work. Another great thing is we have our new stove, dishwasher and fridge. I’m so thankful I don’t have to mop up water from the bottom of an old fridge any more, see a dishwasher that is there but, doesn’t work. We have so much to be thankful for this year. My oldest daughter’s premie baby who recently turned 8 months is big and healthy. My second youngest who is pregnant and things are going well. I could go on and on.
Maybe we won’t be able to ALL be together but, we will all talk, maybe Face time and those who are together will enjoy, laugh and probably eat too much! If your week is too busy to see all that’s going on here on the site I’ll wish you a Happy Thanksgiving now. But, if you subscribe you won’t miss a post! If you are around popping in early reading during the week there’s more good stuff all week long. That’s it for today! Wishing you a happy Monday and meal planning.
